Kate & Simon

Our wedding: 10th July, 2006

St. Lucia

It is our second day in St. Lucia at the stunning BodyHoliday LeSport resort at the north of the island (just above Gros Islet).

Before we left it was starting to rain in England. Hurrah we thought, just the weather to be arriving in a tropical paradise. But of course as we landed (10hrs later and rather tired and grumpy) it was raining a tropical storm all evening. It is the rainy season here, but Kate wasn’t expecting any. After a chat with our concierge he arranged for the rain to stop and our first full day (yesterday) was full of sun and warm weather. Some ominous clouds loomed briefly, though they were dutifully scattered far out across the oceans where they dropped their watery load on a poor unsuspecting oil tanker while we baked on the beach.

Anyway, enough about the weather. You can tell we’re English!

Upon arrival we had champagne and had dinner in the exquisite Tao restaurant, though tragically Katie was too tired and after our main course we had to retire without dessert (8.30pm St.Lucia time, 1.30am London time). We are booked in for Friday to hit the dessert trolley with a vengeance.

Yesterday we lounged on the beach, swam, and ate (a lot)! We also had our first spa treatment: hydrotherapy, which involves sitting in a sea water pool with jets massaging your body. Lovely.

Today we are up and about and starting the activities that this resort offers. This morning we had archery and we set about thundering arrows into the targets. Kate did better than me and managed to hit the red circle (one off bullseye). I managed to hit the gazebo roof because I’m too tall.

About to hit the beach now before some windsurfing, and then we shall retire to the bar for the World Cup. That may spell the end of the activities for the day.

Ok signing off now to enjoy our very special time here!

love Simon & Kate (Mr and Mrs Jones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
